The Tourism Industry Task Force Group was mandated to provide Enterprise Miramichi (and its partners) with sound
recommendations on how to improve/develop their sector over the next three to five years.

Increase our current share of the New Brunswick tourism market
Tourism is one of the largest and fastest growing industries in New Brunswick, Canada, and the world. In the past decade,
tourism revenues in NB have increased by 5.9% annually, exceeding the average GDP growth of 4.6% for the same period. Currently,
the Miramichi region attracts approximately 7% of the visitors to the province, which equates to 140,000 tourists in 2002.
According to industry figures, on average $85 is spent per person per day. A survey conducted by MRVT revealed that visitors
to the region stay on average 3 days, providing regional tourism revenues of $35,700,000 in 2002 (Tourism Sector Task Group).
