In 2003 seven economic sector task groups were formed as an initiative of Enterprise Miramichi board members and partners,
working with the advisory forum and community leaders throughout the Miramichi Region.
The sector task groups were given the mandate to identify strategic issues, development opportunities and regional priorities
as they relate to each sector.
As well, task groups proposed ways the region and its partners could work together to strengthen and improve these various
priority sectors to produce jobs and income to the region over the next few years. Extensive interviews were conducted
with business, political and community leaders to solicit their input to the process.
The groups were reconvened in 2006/07 to review the previous three years and put in place goals & actions items for
the next three (2007-10)
